In the history of Porta San Tomaso 
Porta San Tomaso, running north of Treviso, built under the mayor Paolo Nani in the early '500, is the work of William D'Alzano Bergamo though history does not exclude the involvement of marble from Venice, in particular Lombardo brothers. Outside on the arc center, shows the inscription: "Port de Saint Thomas" in Venetian dialect for the people coming from outside Treviso, mostly peasants. On the arc toward the city, the same is stated in writing in Latin (Porta Sancti Thomae - Dominus et custodiat introitum exitum tuum) to emphasize the difference between the aristocratic culture of the center and the countryside. Throughout its history the port name changed: during the uprisings became "Porta Mazzini" and kept that name for several decades after 1900, until it was restored the current one.
Saranda Port Saranda port was located about a hundred yards back toward the center of Treviso, where the medieval walls protected the suburbs of the city, following a smaller perimeter. Coeval Porta San Tomaso, according to history, still guaranteed as guarantees, access to Treviso for those coming from West (Padova, Montagnana, Vicenza, Castelfranco Veneto). Even in the Saranda port, as in that of St. Thomas, there are some reliefs on the facade including the lion of Venice and some heraldic symbols. The interior space features vaulted ceilings regents a floor that allows the use of an empty attic. In its history, Port Saranda was equipped with drawbridges, one for the floats and one for pedestrians, ready to be withdrawn in case of enemy attack. Porta Altinia
Porta Altinia is the third hole made in the early years of 1500 to the south of Treviso. The appearance, varied in history for the adjustments dictated by modern military strategies, it is considerably less impressive than at the Gates of St. Thomas and Saranda, but perhaps the most elegant and graceful. The name "Altino" comes from the city which was oriented towards ie Altino, the Roman city destroyed by the Huns led by Attila (between 400 and 500 led to the looting of the territory of Padua, Vicenza and Verona), from which derives apparently another name for the port or Altilia and the fusion of two names, similar-sounding word, it has been the name of Altino. According to history, from Porta Altinia all goods passing to and from Venice that did not follow the path of the river Sile, so It is used for a long time both as a military stronghold and as a symbol connecting Treviso with Venice and the Veneto Eastern General.
